Dubbo here we come

We did actually have a slightly delayed departure but by 11:30am we were bags(and bags and bags)packed lolly prepared and headed for the freeway.First attempt at a stop was at supposedly an Infantry Museum. Must admit I was thinking it a little sus when the entry gate was a boom gate manned by security :)) A polite security guard informed us the museum was behind schedule and wouldn't be ready for another month. He kindly let us thru the boom gate to do a U turn. And waved us on our way. Wasn't so sure he would be so polite if I began photographing the place so settled with a photo of the sign.
Lunch stop was at Jerrys Plains. Yes that's plural Jerry and plain according to the signage and a later Google search. Even on holidays punctuation rules my world haha... but if you find errors in my blog please be kind :)) . Ventured into the local hotel and ate a country style hearty meal.
Drove off on the traffic free road and singing to some good and not so good songs from our cd collection.
Before we knew it ,we had eaten our way thru a few rolls of mentos, marveled at the fact Telstra had better mobile coverage than optus and saw DUNEDOO signs . Pulled in to the 'township' outside the pub, the only place open. Wanders the street for a few exciting minutes. Word of warning don't try thinking you can just slip into town and get a bed for the night...no way!! The motel was actually FULL!! In true 'Kerry' style I was convinced the two Chris Lilley Nathan types that rode on their bikes past me doing wheelies in the gravel, were out to steal my bag so we headed back to the car and took off for Dubbo.
Headed into the slowly sinking sun .Used my iPad as a GPS guide as we arrived in Dubbo. Hotel is fine and I am smiling cause we had chinese food for dinner and a little raspberry sparkling wine ...well, Brian had a James Boag . Hope to get an early start for White Cliffs via Cobar and Wilcania tomorrow. Hope to get LOTS of photos as we drive thru as I don't see myself in the outback again :))

Kerry and BRIAN (haha. Written in uppercase Brian style) xxx

Tomorrow...Always a day away!!!!!!!!!!

Well its around 11:30 pm. My bag is packed but, well, Brian is still finishing a few ironing jobs (good dad!!) .We planned to just use only one suitcase as the other is up in the attic and that is just one extra thing to do - move cars from the garage to retrieve the extra bag. So , half one suitcase and a fully crammed carry on luggage style bag and I'm done... except of course for the beauty aids :). Tomorrow's agenda has an early start supposedly. If we are in the car (and past the all important petrol fill up and lolly collection at Erina by 11 am I will cheer :)
Will try to write each day via the ipad and hopefully load some photos (real ones since I don't have a good photoshop on my ipad , though Im sure I shall probably have time to search during my travels.
Ok, off to get some sleep ready for our adventure. Singing in my head "Travel all over the countryside..Ask the Mclachlans, Ask the McLachlans,Travel all over the countryside, Ask the McLachlan spouses.(travelling in true Leyland Brothers style HAHAHA). Sof course feel free to google our destinations and leave us comments on what you want us to explore...don't expect us to deviate from our google maps trail though :))
Dubbo ...here we come!!!!

Oh, and incase you are wondering (and if you aren't I will still tell you) the photo on the profile is one of the first treks we did well before we were spouses, infact we had virtually just met. Always hated heights and it shows on my face! And, love the mullet style hair I'm wearing and check out Brian hahaha!!)

Love Kerry xxx
